Understanding Color Codes
In web design, colors are represented by codes that computers can interpret. The three most common formats are HEX, RGB, and HSL. Our tool allows you to convert between them instantly.
- HEX (Hexadecimal): A 6-digit code (e.g., #FF0000) representing Red, Green, and Blue values in base 16. It is the most common format for CSS.
- RGB (Red, Green, Blue): An additive color model where colors are created by mixing red, green, and blue light. Values range from 0-255.
- HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness): A cylindrical coordinate system that represents colors in a way more intuitive to humans: what color is it (Hue), how vivid is it (Saturation), and how bright is it (Lightness).
